Who we are
Turbo Tides is a small family-run swim lesson business operating at Glenview Swim Club in Danville, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you book a lesson through turbotides.us, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
When you book a lesson, we ask for:
- Your name
- Your mobile phone number
- The date and time of your requested lesson, and which instructor it is with
We do not collect payment information through this website — payment is handled in person at the pool.
How we use your phone number (SMS)
We use your mobile phone number to send you text messages related to your swim lesson bookings. Specifically, you may receive:
- A booking confirmation when your lesson is scheduled
- A cancellation notice if a lesson needs to be cancelled or rescheduled
- An occasional reply from your instructor if you text back with a question
Message frequency is low — typically one or two messages per booking. Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan. We do not use your phone number for marketing, promotions, or advertising, and we never share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Consent is optional. You will only receive text messages if you separately check the SMS consent box on the booking form. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can complete a booking without checking the box, in which case we will not text you about your booking. Your booking is not affected by your SMS choice.
Scope of consent. By checking the SMS consent box you only agree to receive the transactional text messages described above. Your consent for SMS is separate from any other agreement you may have with Turbo Tides, including this Privacy Policy itself. Checking the SMS box does not constitute agreement to any other terms.
Opting out. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us. After you reply STOP, you will not receive further text messages. Reply HELP for assistance.
No sharing of opt-in data. We do not share mobile-opt-in consent or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
How we store and share your information
Booking details (your name, phone number, and lesson time) are stored in the calendar of the instructor you book with, which is hosted by Google Calendar. We use Twilio to send text messages on our behalf; Twilio therefore processes your phone number and the contents of messages. We do not sell or rent your information to any third party. We retain booking records only for as long as is reasonably needed to run the business.
Children's privacy
Our lessons are for young swimmers, but bookings are made by a parent or guardian, and the phone number we collect is the parent's. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Your choices
- You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP.
- You can ask us to delete your booking record by contacting us.
- You can book without SMS by contacting us directly rather than using the online booking form.
