Who we are
Turbo Tides is a small family-run swim lesson business based in Danville, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you book a lesson through turbotides.us, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
When you book a lesson, we ask for:
- Your name
- Your mobile phone number
- The date and time of your requested lesson, and which instructor it is with
We do not collect payment information through this website — payment is handled in person at the pool.
How we use your phone number (SMS)
Your instructor may use your mobile phone number to send you text messages about your swim lesson bookings. Specifically, you may receive:
- A booking confirmation when your lesson is scheduled
- A cancellation notice if a lesson needs to be cancelled or rescheduled
Texts are sent personally by your instructor from a personal mobile number — not from an automated messaging platform. Frequency is low — typically one message per booking. Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan. We do not use your phone number for marketing, promotions, or advertising, and we never share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
Consent is optional. You will only receive text messages if you separately check the SMS consent box on the booking form. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. You can complete a booking without checking the box, in which case your instructor will contact you by phone call instead if needed. Your booking is not affected by your SMS choice.
Opting out. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message from us, or by contacting us at the email below. After you opt out, you will not receive further text messages from your instructor.
No sharing of opt-in data. We do not share mobile opt-in consent or phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
How we store and share your information
Booking details (your name, phone number, and lesson time) are stored in the calendar of the instructor you book with, which is hosted by Google Calendar. We do not sell or rent your information to any third party. We retain booking records only for as long as is reasonably needed to run the business.
Children's privacy
Our lessons are for young swimmers, but bookings are made by a parent or guardian, and the phone number we collect is the parent's. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Your choices
- You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP.
- You can ask us to delete your booking record by contacting us.
- You can book by contacting us directly rather than using the online booking form.
